Hellllllooooo sports fans! The Occasionalists are back to dish on some winter sports.
We obviously cover the incredible tragedy of the helicopter crash that claimed 9 lives, including those of Kobe and Gianna Bryant. We take a sincere attempt at examining the controversy in his life and what it means to the legacy of a true global icon.
We also talk some pigskin as we do a quick review of the Superb Owl, the plays, players and commercials that made it a solid Super Sunday. Included in this segment is a little XFL talk too! What's it like, will it last and what are the key things this experimental league is doing that might influence the NFL?

The world is heating up and as the temps rise, so do the incidents of wildfires. Places prone to them, like Australia and the Western US, are seeing both the intensity and frequency of fires rise. Why is this? (You already know the answer to that, you're smart!) We do a dive into how and why conflagrations have become so common and if there is anything we can do to stop them.

We finish up our yearly review with tv, movies and music we really liked, some stuff we caught up on this year and a few hopes for the next year and next decade.

Fads are a staple of American consumerism, from the shelves of retail stores to the silver screen. This week, we discuss the various fads we've encountered in our lives, the anatomy of a fad and whether or not various segments of pop culture can even produce fads.
But we start off with something that has captured America and held it hostage for the better part of five months: The Popeye's Chicken Sandwich.
