The Occasionalists are back!
After a nice summer break filled with travel, friends and catching the coronavirus, we are back to officially start Season 7 with one of our favorites, 5 Good Topics.

The Occasionalists ShortFilm Festival: Love Death + Robots

We are back to wrap up another awesome Movie May with a look at one of the very few short film anthologies available on any platform: the Netflix original Love Death + Robots.
We take on both seasons of the animated shorts and discuss our favorites, least favorites and the noticeable shift in identity and maturity between the seasons.
We also pick out a few films we think are worthy of some sort of expansion, be it television or a full feature.

The Occasionalists Short Film Festival: Chemma's Selections

We are continuing our short film centric Movie May with Chemma's additions to the festival! In this episode we take a look at movie with some legitimate star power, the shortest film ever nominated for an Academy Award, and a film that feels a little too real after having lived through 2020.

Mortal Kombat (2021) 24HR Review Challenge

We are back with another edition of the 24HR Movie Review Challenge, this time with blood and guts to spare as we take on the Mortal Kombat reboot!
Does this movie kick ass? If so, how much ass does it kick? And who kicked the most ass?
Is this a proper homage to both the video game and the beloved (bad) original?
